To be classed as high polyphenol the Commission Regulation (EU) No 432/2012 states that the polyphenols must be above 250 mg/Kg and a daily intake of 20g of olive oil is needed to obtain the benecial health claim ("Olive oil polyphenols contribute to the protection of blood lipids from oxidative stress").
