OlvLimits now delivering to the UK

OlvLimits is a startup company founded by two friends in the Netherlands - Sil and Roos.

While chatting with Sil who was walking me through what OlvLimits was all about, I was impressed with a few things in particular. The brand is bringing a unique product format not commonly seen in the UK, a 2L ‘Bag in Tube’. Not only that, they have shown a clear effort to be transparent in how they are operating OlvLimits, documenting their journey with videos on social media.

They have also provided multi-residue analysis of their oil, testing for the presence of potentially harmful chemicals like insecticides and herbicides. A great step to increasing transparency in the olive oil industry, giving the consumer more and more data to make their purchasing decisions with.

Importing their oil only from producers that match their strict requirements, they have successfully imported oils from countries such as Italy and Spain into the Netherlands. Recently, they have opened up international shipping to the UK. This does mean shipping will take a day or two longer to reach you, but if you’re a fan of striking bottle designs, or just resonate with their journey then it’s surely worth the wait.

Their product line-up consists of 3 oils - each with a different day to day use. Green Machine is the oil with the most polyphenols.

Green Machine comes in a couple of different formats. Firstly, a striking darkened bottle to protect from UV and the label hand-designed with playful Illustrations.

It also comes in a 2L ‘Bag in tube’, similar to a box that dispenses wine. This option is great for those looking to stock up in a more cost effective way.

Currently, as part of a new harvest deal, all 2L tube subscriptions come with a free stainless steel refill bottle. A handy, reusable container to dispense into. A small tip from us, as with any reusable olive oil container - after you give it an initial clean, let the inside dry fully. This way, you won’t mix in any residual water as you refill with oil as this can be a pain when adding to a hot pan later on.

Sil and Roos kindly sent over some products for this review, the delivery taking less than a week to go from their base in the Netherlands to my address in the UK.
