Healthy levels of polyphenols in the 24/25 harvest

A few readers have emailed in asking whether any 24/25 high polyphenol oils have been harvested and put up for sale. In the Northern Hemisphere, the harvesting months for high polyphenol olive oil are October and November. This is because polyphenols are at their maximum when the olives are not fully ripe, so harvest is slightly earlier than 'regular' olive oil.

As yet, there are no 2024 harvest olive oils widely available in the UK. But the good news is, multiple producers have confirmed that the conditions this year have been more favourable than the last, and that polyphenol numbers are looking strong so far.

We are expecting oil to be available for sale in January, with some potentially being made available in December 2024 if the logistics around bottling and shipping go smoothly. So, there's still time to enjoy a last bottle or two before placing an order for the fresh harvest.
